What is a tact switch

A "tactile switch" is a widely used switch that typically completes a circuit when the user applies pressure to the device, and then provides the user with a perceptible "click" or tactile shock in response, instructing the flow of electrical current. When the switch is released, the current is turned off. Simply put, a tactile switch is a momentary action device whose operation is perceived by touch. This tangible feedback provides the user with some assurance that the switch has been operated and the signal has flowed. Tactile switches can also turn off current when the switch is pressed and turn it back on when released.
